What a mitzvah! Nearly all Birmingham Jewish Organizations have now embraced the effort to make the task of thank-yous more efficient and less stressful for families who are grieving or dealing with a serious illness.. Please read below how you can participate if you are the contributor or if you receive an acknowledgment.
If You are the Contributor
When contacting a Birmingham Jewish Organization (see below) to make a donation, consider indicating your email address. It will be put on the acknowledgement to signal the recipient that a thank you by email is fine...a possible significant savings in time and money to those overcoming grief or an illness.
Your home address will still be listed on the acknowledgement in case email is not available.or desired.
If You Receive an Acknowledgment
If you receive an acknowledgment from a Birmingham Jewish Organization and the contributor's email address is displayed, feel comfortable in sending a thank-you by email. As indicated above, that email address will only be listed if the contributor notified the organization when making the donation that he or she feels it is appropriate to receive an email thank-you.
Participating Birmingham Jewish Organizations
The following Birmingham Jewish Organizations are currently able to include the contributor's email address on their acknowledgements when requested:
