The goal of the community youth group is to use the already existing structure of BBYO as the local model for chapter based programming and Teen Tzedekah. Beyond the local level, the community youth group will promote all the regional engagement opportunities for teens including but not limited to BBYO, USY, NCSY, and NFTY regional programs. This will allow our Jewish teens to be involved regionally in movement based programs. The teens will also be engaged socially, culturally, communally and intellectually and reflect the diversity of Jewish life, including: Israel, philanthropy, current events, community service, recreation, education and Shabbat through programming with help from their CYG coordinator. This program helps to build joint partnerships with Jewish and secular community organizations, and reach out to the entire community to engage new teens in Community Youth Group.
If you know any Jewish 9th-12th grade teen interested in joining the Birmingham Community Youth Group, please contact Katie Hausman at firstname.lastname@example.org or 510-9010.
