“I often find myself asking, ‘What is it about The J that makes us so different from any other gym in town?’
“I believe it is tikvah, or hope, that every person experiences when coming through our doors. During a devastating year for the Jewish community, our center has provided hope not only to the Jewish community, but to the community at large.”
—LJCC Executive Director Brooke Bowles
Watch the video we debuted at this year’s J’la Gala on August 8. The theme of the event was “Growing Stronger Together”:
At the LJCC, every dollar counts toward bettering our community — and that’s true today more than ever. Join us in our work by donating today.
For more than a century, the LJCC has served Birmingham residents in countless ways, and we continue to grow and evolve to meet community needs. We’re proud that our legacy of being an oasis for B’ham’s Jewish community has evolved into playing such an important role in the wider community.
