We are so excited to be the first fitness center in Alabama to have Core Barre classes included in our group fitness program! These classes will add a unique element to our already extensive group fitness repertoire.

CORE BARRE™ follows current concepts of stabilization to create effective and safe movement where body strength and awareness are increased as well as joint flexibility, proper posture, stability and form. Participating in CORE BARRE™ creates focus, precision, and strength not only in the physical realm but in context of general wellness and daily living.
The CORE BARRE™ session is 55 minutes and starts with some light weights and easy movements to increase the heart rate, warm up the muscles, and bring mobility to the spine. The barre work uses isolated movements to target the thighs and buttocks while improving coordination and balance. The abdominal movements that follow challenge core muscles and promote stability and strength. Timely cues facilitate proper breathing and introduce simple
modifications for each of the movements, resulting in a safe, enjoyable, and effective workout.
Please arrive to your scheduled class 5-10 minutes early to sign in so we can begin class on time!

I learned to swim at a very early age at the old YMHA and spent much of my teens at the JCC – AZA, day camp counselor, Center Players, more. The Center has always been there and a part of my life.
