Julia Kolchinksy Dasbach emigrated from Dnipro, Ukraine, as a Jewish refugee in 1993, when she was 6. She is the author of The Many Names for Mother, winner of the Stan and Tom Wick Poetry Prize; Don’t Touch the Bones; and the forthcoming 40 WEEKS.

Tonight’s program will be a combined reading/lecture that will connect her family’s Holocaust experience and history in Ukraine with current events will incorporate Julia’s “Dear Ukraine” activity, where participants can send their own messages/poetry to the people of Ukraine.
