Friedman Youth Lounge

Are you looking for a safe, nurturing, fun and comfortable facility for your child? The LJCC is just that!  We strive to make coming to the “J” something that the kids will look forward to and enjoy. Our goal is to provide an atmosphere that develops competent, self-reliant, self-disciplined kids.  Your child will be given the space to be independent, yet know he/she is safe in a non-threatening environment with staff around to help when needed; however, not hover over them all the time.

Calling all kids in grades K – 8!  We have a game room just for you!  There’s air hockey, foosball, videos, building blocks, toys, Arts & Crafts, and board and card games.  Here you can have your space and independence too.  We have staff here to make sure things go smoothly. We even help with homework. Come join us in the Friedman Youth Lounge after school.

The Friedman Youth lounge is open on a daily basis for drop-in.  The kids really enjoy just hanging out with their friends.  Many kids tell us they would much rather be here because it gets boring at home.

The J is a great community that promotes healthy living on so many levels. The staff is fantastic and the environment is fun and welcoming. Not to mention, summer family nights at the pool!!!

The LJCC is funded in part by the Birmingham Jewish Federation, the Birmingham Jewish Foundation and the United Way of Central Alabama.
