Group Fitness

The LJCC is proud to offer one of the finest and most diverse group fitness programs in the city. Because we recognize that many people feel more comfortable exercising in a group setting, we have developed a schedule that is efficient, effective and motivating. We have a team of highly certified and qualified instructors whose mission is to help our members achieve their goals and achieve greater fitness in a relaxed, comfortable and fun setting.

Our program is specially designed to cater to all different levels of fitness, and we work together to create an environment that is encouraging, positive and non-competitive. You don’t need any prior experience to participate in our classes, and it doesn’t matter how out of shape you may feel, you will leave our classes feeling healthier and stronger. While progress takes time, our team will be with you every step of the way.

With offerings ranging from traditional yoga and Pilates to Extreme Water Workout, and everything in between, you are sure to be able to find classes on our schedule that will be both enjoyable and beneficial. We have awesome programs for kids and seniors, as well as plenty of mind/body, strength and cardio programming. We are also proud to offer the Les Mills brand of world class group fitness, including BODYPUMP™, BODYSTEP™, BODYFLOW™ and RPM™.

GROUP FITNESS SCHEDULE

Speciality Programs

CORE SUSPEND™ is an energetic choreographed workout that conditions the whole body, building on the CORE BARRE fundamentals of focus, precision and strength. The program’s exercises are designed to develop a consciousness of each of the muscle groups in the body and the respective functioning in balance with one another.

We are so excited to be the first fitness center in Alabama to have Core Barre classes included in our group fitness program! These classes will add a unique element to our already extensive group fitness repertoire.

Enjoy a 8-week team and group-based fitness program centered on fun. It’s a program that will challenge you and commit you to making a change. You’ll be one of a team of recruits led by LJCC BOOTCAMP personal trainers, who will take you through intense physical training, exciting workouts and other challenging fun drills.

The Biggest Loser is a weight loss program, that helps you form a path to better health and better fitness for life. It is an 8-week program featuring small-group workouts which include a combination of functional training, strength training and a variety of exercises on utilizing only your best cardiovascular potential developed by certified, degreed, fitness professionals.

I learned to swim at a very early age at the old YMHA and spent much of my teens at the JCC – AZA, day camp counselor, Center Players, more. The Center has always been there and a part of my life.
