Swim lessons at the LJCC Pool help adults and kids increase their skills and level of comfort in the water, and we provide a healthy, safe, and fun environment for our students, parents, and instructors. Our lessons are ideal for students who learn better by instruction, including anxious first-time swimmers, kids with special needs, adults who have put off learning to swim, and competitive swimmers who would benefit from targeted training on specific skill sets.
Lessons are also a great fit for former runners and other athletes who want to learn about lower-impact exercise options.
LJCC instructors have a passion for helping swimmers excel in a safe, supportive, and interactive environment. Our semi-private lessons last 30 minutes and are built for multiple swimmers who are at least 2 years old. This makes swim lessons an especially good fit for siblings or friends who want to swim together. It is our goal for swim students to learn — at the least — life-saving water survival skills.
Our experienced teaching team includes coaches and swimmers who have spent most of their lives in aquatics. Our solid reputation is why we have a waiting list.
We do not offer ISR-type lessons.
Lesson etiquette
Come in your swimsuit and towel. Goggles are not required but recommended. Children who are not toilet trained must wear a swim diaper.
Parents: Please arrive on time to swim lessons with your child(ren) dressed in proper swim attire (including swim diapers — see previous paragraph) and ready for their lesson. Locker rooms with changing facilities are available. Please do not change your children on the pool deck.
We encourage parents to be a part of swim lessons, but ask that they do not interfere with the lesson. We also ask parents to not sit directly in their child’s line of sight.
After each lesson, please check around the area to make sure you have your child’s belongings.
