OTMJ highlights the Jewish Food Fest

“It’s such a large event with so many moving pieces,” Community Engagement Director Katie Hausman Grace recently told Ally Morrison from Over the Mountain Journal. “Since it’s a community event, it’s important to us that our community is involved in our planning process. We have about five non-staff leaders who have taken a large leadership role, and we will utilize about 120 volunteers.”

The Jewish Food and Culture Fest will take place this Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Brooke Bowles, associate director at The J, also explained to Ally how the LJCC is just one of six Jewish nonprofits in Birmingham and how its role is bringing people together — Jewish and non-Jewish. “[The Jewish Food Fest] is the single powerful effort that brings people together to celebrate all things Jewish.”
