300,000 gallons of summer fun starts Saturday

Our gorgeous 300,000-gallon outdoor pool will open for the season on Saturday, May 25. 

Considering its size, the high dive (one of only two in the area), the ever-popular giant inflatables, spacious deck, covered kiddie pool, and the new basketball hoop — we’re calling our pool the best in B’ham. 

And did we mention the new climbing wall?

Schedule*

  • Mondays-Thursdays 5-10 a.m. lap swimming (unguarded, and sharing the lane area with Swim Club 7-9 a.m.), 10 a.m.-7:30 p.m. family swim time with lifeguard
  • Fridays 5-10 a.m. lap swimming (unguarded, and sharing the lane area with Swim Club 7-9 a.m.), 10 a.m.-4 p.m. family swim time with lifeguard
  • Saturdays-Sundays 8-9:30 a.m. lap swimming (unguarded), 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. family swim time with lifeguard
  • Memorial Day will see the pool open 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. (with family swim starting at 10 a.m.)
  • You’ll find a giant inflatable in the pool every other weekend starting May 25-26, alternating with use of the high dive and climbing wall starting June 1-2 (see calendar for details)

The giant pool inflatables (which alternate weekends with use of the new climbing wall and high dive) are just one part of what makes The J’s outdoor pool the best in town.

Children must wear iPlay Swim Diapers (sold at the Welcome Desk) until they are fully toilet-trained. Disposable diapers are not allowed. If fecal matter is found in the pool, we will shut down the pool for 24 hours and fine the responsible family $500. 

Day passes

While we have the most generous guest policy around, we will pause it during the summer in order to ensure that the pool is not too crowded for our beloved members.

While joining The J is the best way to access the pool, we will begin offering day passes to non-members. These will cost $10 for each person age 4 and up ($30 max per family), with no more than three visits per guest annually. Day pass users will not need to be guests of current LJCC members.

Thursday Family Fun Nights

Starting Thursday, June 6, and every Thursday for the months of June and July, join us for food, drinks, and family fun at the outdoor pool. The two-hour parties will begin at 5:30 p.m.

TFFNs are open to members (and members only), who will enjoy food and beverages available for purchase.
