Last weekend’s three-day USA Pickleball-sanctioned Magic City Open Pickleball Tourney — a first for The J — was a hugely successful big dill.
The regional tournament saw 132 participants coming from as far away as Huntsville, Montgomery, Nashville, Orange Beach, Oxford, and even Louisiana, and ages ranged from 12 up to 70-plus. Competition was nearly at the pro level (5.0), with the men’s division making an especially good showing. Official sanctioning meant referees were present for early round matches plus all medal rounds.
A highlight for many lucky players was a massage from our very own dynamic duo of Bo and Paul.
