Shana Tova… and an offer

A message from Membership Director Cody Bass

Shana Tova and Gmar Chatima Tova!

We hope the new year of 5783 is filled with happiness, community, and good health.

As we look toward the new year and think of ways to improve our imperfections — and by extension the world around us — The J would like to extend an invitation to members of Birmingham’s Jewish houses of worship* (who are currently not members here at The J) to use our fitness floor, pools, and other amenities free of charge during the entire month of Tishrei (Sept. 28-Oct. 24).

And if you’re looking for a sustainable wellness plan please simply reach out to me (, 205-879-0411) and I will be happy to meet with you and present some options.

Again, on behalf of the staff and board of the LJCC, we welcome each of you to use The J during this sacred month. As the Rambam teaches, “The purpose of maintaining the body in good health is to make it possible for us to acquire wisdom.”

*Including Temple Beth-El, Temple Emanu-El, Chabad of Alabama, and Knesset Israel
