Youth & Camp

Summer Camps

A tradition since 1952, the Levite Jewish Community Center’s summer camps are filled with opportunities for children to play, explore, and experience in an environment based on Jewish values and culture. Our Camp LJCC program is open to children entering kindergarten through 8th grade and includes everything from outdoor activities to singing and dancing, so your child is sure to have a good time. Day camps are offered each week along with sports and specialty camp options to fit any interests. For your convenience, camp weeks are a la carte, so you can sign up for one, two, or the entire summer!

As part of our goal of community outreach and inclusivity, families who find the full cost of Camp LJCC too difficult to manage are urged to contact or stop by the Membership Office to obtain a scholarship application.

Summer Camp registration for 2022 is now open. This year we are offering 10 full weeks of camp: May 31 through August 5, with specialty camps being added as we finalize details.

Day Camp

LJCC Day Camp is a traditionally-styled day camp that includes activities such as swimming, sports, games, arts, hiking, STEM, and so much more. During the summer, campers have an opportunity to challenge themselves to try new activities and learn new skills. Campers come from different schools throughout the greater Birmingham area, creating an environment for new friends and life-long memories.

Camp groups children by grade level to ensure daily programming is interesting and engaging at all ages. Additionally, we grow with your child, offering Counselor in Training (CIT) programs to campers who have aged out of traditional day camp.

Day camps include:

  • Swim each day
  • In-house special activities
  • Special guests
  • Weekly Shabbat celebrations
  • General camp activities such as sports, music, cooking, science/STEM, nature, and more
  • Open to LJCC member and non-members

Camp LJCC Day Camp is available for campers rising 1st grade through rising 8th grade. For rising kindergarten camp please see our Cohn ECLC Summer Camp page.
