Player & Team Registration | The J March Madness

The LJCC Adult Men’s Basketball League is a competitive-leaning recreational league designed for adults who want organized, high-quality, full-court basketball in a fun and community-focused environment. With certified officials, structured scheduling, weekly games, and a full playoff bracket, this league provides the ideal balance of competition, sportsmanship, and camaraderie.

The league offers team registration as well as a limited-capacity free agent option to ensure everyone has a chance to play.

Season Dates: February 16 – April 5, 2026
Game Days: Mondays & Wednesdays (Each team plays once per week)
Championship Games: Sunday, April 12, 2026
Registration Deadline: Friday, February 13, 2026
Ages: 19+

League details

Teams & Capacity

  • 7 team-registration spots available
    • Each team may roster up to 8 players (no exceptions).
  • 5-8 Free Agent players will form the 8th “LJCC House Team.”
    • House Team players will be provided pinnies but may create team shirts if desired.
    • Free agents may be moved to fill spots on teams

Total league: 8 teams, capped intentionally to maintain high-quality scheduling and competitive balance.

Captain Responsibilities

Captains are responsible for:

  • Communicating with their team
  • Ensuring players arrive on time
  • Managing team behavior
  • Providing roster information
  • Submitting shirt color/team name
  • Teams: $500 per team (max 7 teams, 8-player cap)
    • Team captain required
    • Provide team name & shirts
  • Free Agents: $70 per player (8-player cap)
    • LJCC “Home Team” pinnies provided
  • 5v5 full-court games
  • Two 15-minute running-clock halves
  • Stop-clock in the final 2 minutes of the second half (if the score is within 10 points)
  • Overtime: 2 minutes, stop-clock
  • Officials: Two referees assigned for every game
  • Scoreboard/Clock: Operated by LJCC staff
  • Game Nights:
    • Mondays starting at 6 PM
    • Wednesdays starting at 6 PM

Each team plays once per week (either Monday or Wednesday)

Regular Season

  • Week 1: Monday, February 16 & Wednesday, February 18
  • Week 2: Monday, February 23 & Wednesday, February 25
  • Week 3: Monday, March 2 & Wednesday, March 4
  • Week 4: Monday, March 9 & Wednesday, March 11
  • Week 5: Monday, March 16 & Wednesday, March 18

Spring Break – No Games – March 23–27, 2026

Final Regular Season Week

  • Week 6: Monday, March 30 & Wednesday, April 1

Playoffs

Week 7 – Play-In & Seeding Games

  • Monday, April 6 & Wednesday, April 8
    (Determines which teams advance and final seeding for Championship Sunday.)

The LJCC Adult Men’s Basketball League will conclude with a Championship Sunday celebration — an exciting community event designed to bring together players, families, and the entire LJCC community.

Event Highlights

  • Championship Game
    • Full game-day presentation
    • Music, player introductions, and awards
  • Community Invitations
    • All LJCC members, families, and supporters will be invited to attend
    • Teams are encouraged to bring their friends and families to cheer them on
  • Food & Drinks Available
    • The LJCC Café will be open with snacks, and drink specials
    • Concessions available before and during the game
  • Post-Game Awards Ceremony
    • Championship Trophy
    • T-Shirts for the winning team
    • Photo opportunities for all teams
  • Open to the Public
    • Adult: $15
    • Ages 12 & Under: Free

This event will serve as both the grand finale of the season and a community night at the J, showcasing the energy, excitement, and sportsmanship of the LJCC’s growing athletics community

The ECLC Dads team is for preschool dads who want to get back on the court and connect with other ECLC families. No tryouts or pressure, just a fun, competitive way to play basketball and build community outside the classroom.

The N.E. Miles Dads team brings together fathers from the Jewish day school community for a season of basketball at the LJCC. It’s a chance to stay active, form a school-based team, and enjoy competitive play with other N.E. Miles parents.
