The J March Madness is a high-energy basketball event bringing together players, families, businesses, and community supporters for an afternoon of competition, celebration, and impact. This is more than a league finale — it’s a community spectacle and fundraiser supporting athletics and wellness programming at the LJCC.

Whether you’re cheering from the stands, supporting a team, or representing a local business, this is an event you don’t want to miss. Join us for an exciting, fan-friendly basketball experience featuring:

  • The J March Madness Championship Game

Below are ways to get involved beyond attending:

The J March Madness features a limited recreation league with only 8 total teams.

Team Registration Includes:

  • Entry into the official LJCC Adult Basketball League
  • Guaranteed season play
  • Eligibility to compete on Championship Sunday
  • Team recognition during the event

💰 Free Agent Entry Fee: $70

💰 Team Entry Fee: $500

Teams may be:

  • LJCC member teams
  • Groups of friends or coworkers
  • Community-based teams

You do not need to be an LJCC member to participate.

Open play

Get your virtual punch card

As of July 1, non-LJCC members who want to play pick-up basketball at The J will need to obtain a five-game virtual punch card that will be available for purchase online or at the Welcome Desk for $25. We’ll simply take one game off your card each time you come to play.

Note that need-based scholarships are available to help pay for punch cards.

When to play

The current pick-up schedule is (also viewable on the calendar, which includes holiday closures):

  • Sundays 8-10 a.m.
  • Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays 6-7:30 a.m.
  • Wednesdays 6-8 p.m. (Temporarily paused for basketball league. Starts back April 15, 2026)
