For over a century, the J has been a home for gathering, growing, and building lifelong connections. Now, it’s time to mark this historic milestone together. Join us as we honor our heritage, celebrate our vibrant present, and look ahead to what’s next at our 120th Anniversary Celebration!
Whether your family has walked these halls for generations or you’ve just recently joined our community, this celebration belongs to you. Bring family, friends, and neighbors for an afternoon filled with great food, vintage fun, and shared memories.
What to Expect
- Complimentary lunch from JJ’s Sandwich Shop: Savor classic favorites on us—choose from corned beef sandwiches, falafel, or hot dogs (available while supplies last).
- Exclusive giveaways: The first 250 guests will take home their choice of a limited-edition, decade-themed LJCC T-shirt!
- Decade-inspired activities for all ages include:
- Pet rock painting: Channel the peak 1970s craze and design your own classic pet rock.
- DIY camp pennants: Create a vintage felt pennant to commemorate your favorite camp and J memories.
- Victory garden station: Plant seeds to kickstart your own home garden, inspired by wartime victory gardens.
- Retro games & contests: Try your hand at timeless pastimes and show off your moves in our all-ages hula hoop contest.
- Community-powered fun: Add your creative touch to a community art piece and submit your favorite 80s songs to add to your member-built playlist
- Step back in time: Explore our interactive history exhibit, showcasing the pivotal milestones, archival photos, and personal stories that shaped the J across 120 remarkable years.
We want to capture the LJCC memories only you can tell:
- Learning the game—and real teamwork—on the court during Bitty Basketball
- Your very first summer working as a camp counselor
- Building up the courage to leap off the high dive
- Casual conversations that quietly turned into lifelong friendships
Help us preserve the laughter, traditions, and defining moments that belong entirely to our community.
