Starting a conversation about race with your young child may sound like an impossible task. What do you tell them and what do you hold back? Where do you even start such an important conversation? Conversations about race and racism should start at a young age however many of us don’t know where to start. T. Marie King joins LJCC families to help them learn how to navigate conversations about race with their young children.
T. Marie King travels to cities across the nation serving as an authentic voice for progressive change. In her hometown, Birmingham, AL she carries out her mission by creating pathways to healing by teaching nonviolence and building a better global community.
Through the years, King has spoken at many seminars and presented to more than 250 groups across the nation. Ranging from organizations that impact youth, to college students, to adults and seniors. She consults with community-based and national organizations on diversity issues, effective efforts and, community healing and conversations.
In her spare time, T. Marie curates her own community events to build bridges across differences in Birmingham as well as throughout the US.
