New yoga classes starting in January
A benefit for members
- Yoga Sculpt with Kaleen Lavin: Tuesdays @6 a.m.
- Power Yoga with Kaleen Lavin: Tuesdays @6 p.m.
- Restorative Yoga with Terri Heiman: Thursdays @6 p.m.
Yoga Sculpt brings together traditional yoga postures with intentional movements using body weight or additional light weights to build strength along with flexibility. The practice uses breath-to-drive movement, fostering whole-body fitness and muscle awareness along with mindfulness and appreciation for the capabilities of our bodies in the world around us every day.
Power Yoga is designed to combine the principles of traditional yoga with strength and power training, providing a fun yet accessible whole-body challenge. In this class we recruit the major muscle groups in dynamic movements that often require balance, control, awareness, and body-breath connection. Power yoga also works the nervous system, strengthening the connection between mind and body to enhance feelings of well-being and empowerment that you can carry with you off of the mat.
Restorative Yoga is a mix of meditation, breath-work, and face yoga with the jade gua sha (provided) to help strengthen the muscles of the face and neck as well as increase circulation in the lymphatic system. Physical yoga asanas will take you through a series based on traditional Tibetan rites with a standing series included to strengthen balance. The closing sequences are restorative postures, including legs up the wall accompanied by sound bowls and Reiki Energy to enhance the complete experience for the mind, body, and spirit. Overall you will improve the general well-being of your body, creating feelings of less stress and more concentration adding a glowing look to feel energized and healthy.
