- Just walk in April 14 and 15, 9 a.m.-noon
- Measuring and celebrating senior fitness
- Sit-to-stand, single-leg balance, grip strength

Staying strong isn’t just about lifting weights, it’s about living well. This spring, the Levite JCC invites our senior members (65+) to take part in the “Strong for Life” Challenge — a quick, engaging way to measure and celebrate your functional fitness.
Join us in the lobby on Tuesday, April 14, 9 a.m.-noon or Wednesday, April 15, 9 a.m.-noon to complete three simple assessments: a 30-second sit-to-stand, a single-leg balance hold, and a grip strength test. These aren’t just exercises — they’re proven indicators of strength, stability, and independence in everyday life.
Why does this matter?
The ability to stand up with ease, maintain balance, and hold a firm grip directly supports how confidently you move through your day, whether that’s climbing stairs, carrying groceries, or simply staying steady on your feet. These tests are designed to be safe, low-impact, and accessible across all ability levels, giving you meaningful insight without unnecessary strain.
The best part
You’ll walk away with real, measurable data about your current fitness along with a clear starting point for improvement. Think of it as a snapshot of where you are today and a motivator for where you can go next.
“Senior strength and fitness isn’t about being the strongest in the room,” says Fitness Director Camari Princewill. “It’s about having the strength to live your life on your terms every day.”
Strong for life isn’t a slogan — it’s a strategy. So come see where you stand!
