J Camp earns ACA accreditation

“This honor highlights our commitment to creating a safe, welcoming, and unforgettable summer for every camper,” says Youth and Camps Director Noah Adams.

The Levite Jewish Community Center is excited to announce that its J Camp summer and “School’s Out” programs have earned accreditation from the American Camp Association.

The ACA collaborates with experts from the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Red Cross, and other youth-serving agencies to assure that current practices at camps across the nation reflect the most up-to-date, research-based standards in camp operation. Accreditation is the result of the ACA taking a close look at nearly 300 quality and safety standards ranging from staff qualifications and training to emergency management.

“We’re thrilled to get this certification,” says Youth and Camps Director Noah Adams, who joined the staff in time to run the 2024 summer J Camp. “This honor highlights our commitment to creating a safe, welcoming, and unforgettable summer for every camper.”

J Camp has been a fixture here at The J since 1952. In 2025 the camp ended the season with some impressive stats, including 403 kids spending a combined nearly 1,000 weeks here at The J. In addition to myriad daily activities (including 165 games of gaga ball and countless hours in the pool), they managed to squeeze in half-a-dozen field trips and three water slides.

The popular School’s Out program offers quality “summer camp-style” care for children throughout the year during school breaks.

Plans are already in the works for summer 2026, and registration is expected to open in December.
