A royal stitch

This February, His Royal Highness King Charles III was diagnosed with cancer. With members of the Roz Feigelson Circle of Life Knitting Group meeting weekly at The J to knit scarves for cancer patients, it seemed only fitting to extend that same thoughtfulness to the king himself. It wasn’t long before a black and white scarf was on its way to Buckingham Palace.

Months later, Lori Allen, the needles behind the now royal scarf, received an official letter expressing the king’s gratitude. It has been reported that King Charles is responding well to treatment and has resumed his royal duties. We’d like to think the scarf from Birmingham has aided his healing process.

We are grateful to have this wonderful group as part of our community.

Lori Allen holds the king’s letter during a recent meeting of the Roz Feigelson Circle of Life Knitting Group. “Your kind gesture is greatly appreciated,” writes the king’s correspondence secretary. “The King would have me share his sincere thanks for your support at this time, and has asked me to convey to you his warmest good wishes.”
