Whether your child is getting into science, technology, engineering, and/or mathematics (commonly referred to as “STEM”), picking up a fencing foil, or simply looking for a great place to spend the afternoon, The J offers something to inspire every young learner.
Beginning Aug. 18, our new monthly STEM Club will give children ages 5-10 the opportunity to explore hands-on experiments, creative problem-solving, and exciting STEM concepts in an engagingly interactive environment. Designed as an ongoing series, each monthly session will build on the last, allowing participants to grow their knowledge while having fun with friends.
Meanwhile, Aug. 17 will see the start of a 12-session Filmmaking Fundamentals course that will forms the building blocks for the next Spielberg… or Daniel Scheinert.
Starting Sept. 1, Fencing Club will meet twice-weekly with experienced instructors. Open to youth ages 8-12 as well as teens and even adults, the program, run at The J by Birmingham Fencing Academy, will teach the fundamentals of fencing while building confidence, coordination, discipline, and sportsmanship. Equipment is provided, making it easy for beginners to give the sport a try.
For families needing kid care after the school day ends, our supervised After School Care program continues to provide a safe, welcoming place for children to spend their afternoons. Students receive homework assistance before enjoying games, arts and crafts, and other engaging activities under the guidance of caring staff.
