Group Fitness update, plus an introduction

Kaelyn Wolfe Owens joined our team at The J this fall as group exercise coordinator. She is an Athletics and Fitness Association of America-certified group fitness instructor and a National Academy of Sports Medicine-certified personal trainer. A lifelong learner and lover of health and wellness, Kaelyn has been full-time in the fitness industry for a little more than two years.

“It’s never too late to begin your journey to health!” says Kaelyn Wolfe Owens, group exercise coordinator at The J.

“Health is all-encompassing to me,” she says. “Your physical, mental, and emotional health are all factors in your overall well being. It’s not just about how hard you exercise or how many Brussels sprouts you had for dinner, but the way you take care of your stress levels, maintain good amounts of sleep, and engage in activities that bring you joy and energy that truly equate to overall deep health and vitality.

“It’s never too late to begin your journey to health! We have the best of the best in our instructors here at The J, and they care deeply for our members.”

Kaelyn is excited to end the year by adding four additional Group Fitness classes to The J’s growing schedule:

  • J Dance: A dance-inspired cardio workout gets you moving to the beat of popular music.
  • Sunrise Yoga: This early morning yoga practice is a vinyasa-style class designed to energize the mind, body, and spirit, while giving you energy for your day. It’s beginner friendly, and all levels are welcome.
  • Les Mills GRIT: Scientifically proven to work with exercises that are simple to execute and easy to follow, GRIT will push you to your limits, allow for optimal recovery, and then push you even further. Les Mills GRIT takes HIIT and combines it with powerful music and inspirational coaches who will be with you on the floor, motivating you to go harder to get fit fast.
  • Cycle Fusion: This class combines the cardiovascular challenge experienced in indoor cycling with the toning and muscle development experienced in total body strength training. Come enjoy this fusion class of 20 minutes indoor cycling and 20 minutes of strength training on your mat with dumbbells.
