Kudos to our Group Fitness Bingo winners! “Anna” Shu Cheng took the top prize, followed close behind by Debra Atchison and Beth Benton.
Our sincere thanks to everyone who participated in the eight-week-long game.
Sound Bath
Our recent Sound Bath program that drew 23 participants was a great success. The atmosphere was sizzling with meditative energy along with the soothing vibrations of singing bowls, gongs, and chimes. The session concluded with an evening of poolside relaxation.

“I very much enjoyed the sound bath by the pool,” says attendee Allison Cobb. “I felt so relaxed and like I was just melting into the mat. When it was over, I was full of joy and felt like I had just woken up from the most restful nap! Thank you for this beautiful, peaceful experience.”
The event, the second in our new Pop-Up Fitness series, was conducted by Marcus Dunning of A Connected Touch Massage.
The next events in the series will be an invigorating early-morning “boot camp”-style workout on Levite Field on Sept. 16 at 6 a.m. and a morning nature hike on Oct. 14. Reservations not required — just show up!
Les Mills training
The J also hosted its first-ever Les Mills Training on Aug. 15-16. The event provided an opportunity for participants to earn Les Mills certification as BodyPump or BodyBalance instructors.
The nine participants included four current LJCC instructors and two members who are becoming instructors. “Not only was this training session a great success,” says Group Fitness Coordinator Lillian Cole, “but it also created a networking opportunity for individuals who had no previous affiliation with us to consider becoming instructors here.”
