Last fall, LJCC member Charlie Campbell experienced a viral moment when a video of him singing a Teddy Swims song during a basketball camp got some nationwide notice. The story was picked up by the likes of The TODAY Show, Good Morning America, and ABC News.
And now this week the 12-year-old appeared as a guest on the Jennifer Hudson Show, where he was treated to a surprise appearance by Teddy Swims.
Teddy, an accomplished performer and Grammy nominee, declared himself “starstruck.” Then Charlie started singing and the two even sang a few notes together in a moment that Charlie most likely won’t ever forget.
“Going on Jennifer Hudson was a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and I’m so glad it happened,” says Charlie. “It was so much fun.”
Although we won’t be too surprised if we see Charlie on the national stage again some day…

The J ‘feels like home’
“Charlie has been coming to The J since preschool,” says his father Mel Campbell. “He’s been to numerous camps and plays pickleball and basketball in the pick-up games. And in the summer you can find him and his friends outside enjoying the pool.”
“I love The J,” adds Charlie. “It feels like home.”
