It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Alexis Brown Morton, who retired in 2021 after dedicating 28 years to nurturing and educating children at the Cohn Early Childhood Learning Center. Over the course of her career, she touched the lives of countless families while guiding and inspiring 3-year-olds with compassion, patience, and unwavering dedication.
May her memory be a blessing.
“Ms. Alexis was more than just a teacher,” says Barbara Traweek, chief programs officer at The J. “She was a mentor and a friend whose influence extended far beyond the classroom.
“We know that her legacy lives on through the children and families she impacted,” Barbara adds. “Her warm presence and kindness will long be remembered by all who were fortunate to know her.”
As we reflect on her contributions to our community, all of us here at The J extend our deepest condolences to her family, friends, and all those who were touched by her care.
