Southern Jewish Voices meets Ronne Hess

Longtime philanthropist and volunteer Ronne Hess kicked off season two of our popular Southern Jewish Voices program when she sat down recently for an interview by Temple Beth-El’s Margaret Norman. Some 40 people attended the event.

The interview ranged from Ronne’s youth in Jasper, Alabama, to her experiences in Birmingham. And in light of current events, the two spent much of the interview exploring Ronne’s passion for, travel to, and work on behalf of Israel.

Southern Jewish Voices is a collaborative effort between the Levite Jewish Community Center and Temple Beth-El to present stories about Jewish life in Birmingham and around the South. The program also enjoys support from the Ted and Marjorie Levite LJCC Fund at the Birmingham Jewish Foundation. All SJV interviews are available online.
