This is how we kick off Hanukkah

We had a great turnout for last night’s Grand Menorah Lighting at B’ham’s Summit Mall. The crowd consumed hundreds of free latkes and donuts, and was kept in a festive mood with the help of numerous activities and performers. The menorah was lit by a recently elected Phillip Ensler, the first Jewish member of the Alabama State Legislature in more than 40 years.

Watch the video and peruse the album below. See more pictures on the Chabad of Alabama Facebook page, and see some of the other Hanukkah-themed events planned in the area for this week.

This year’s Grand Menorah Lighting was a collaborative project of the LJCC, Chabad of Alabama, the Birmingham Jewish Foundation’s Karl and Gladys LJCC Fund, and the Birmingham Jewish Federation.
